School Notes
- Beaumont School, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland in collaboration with its lay educators, is dedicated to Catholic, single-sex, college preparatory liberal arts education in a multi-cultural setting. We encourage a young woman to assume the challenges of striving for academic excellence, exercising leadership potential, and living Christian community. The Ursuline philosophy of education, rooted in Jesus Christ and inspired by the spirit of St. Angela Merici, is directed toward the formation of the contemporary Christian woman. We believe this can best be accomplished in a single sex, culturally diverse atmosphere where a young woman can develop the self esteem and leadership qualities she needs to balance the demanding personal, professional, civic and religious responsibilities facing her in an ever-changing world. We define our educational mission within the framework of a supportive learning environment where we aim to personalize our ministry of education so that our teaching skills are suited to the needs of each student. We also emphasize the development of creative and critical thinking skills so that each student has many opportunities to actualize her intellectual, spiritual, aesthetic, social and athletic abilities. We support a critique of societal standards based on the values of the Gospel.
