History
First Coast Christian School was founded in 1981 as a ministry of the formerly known Jacksonville Baptist Temple and was located on Beaver Street in Jacksonville, Fla. In 1985, the school moved, together with the church, to our present location on Blanding Boulevard. The church's name was changed to First Coast Baptist Church and the school was then named First Coast Christian School. In 1990, Dr. Verle Ackerman became the Administrator of the school and served in this capacity until 1997, when Mr. Morry Kemple was called to become the school's current Administrator. Under his leadership, the school saw remarkable growth and earned full accreditation through the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. Mr. Kemple retired in 2014 after many years of faithful service. Mr. Richard L. Spain Jr, is currently the School Administrator and has over 30 years of experience in Christian education. In 2001, the church called Reverend Richard Edwards as Pastor and President of the school.
