Flatiron's Academy

In addition to our Biblically integrated curriculum and culture, we seek to design every aspect of the student experience to promote a flourishing life for each student through education. We are salt, preserving against decay through education. As an educational institution rooted in God's Word, we affirm and promote a biblical worldview including philosophical positions explicitly and implicitly represented in the Bible.
We affirm and promote metaphysical and epistemological realism, the correspondence view of truth, and the importance of deontological ethics.
We are light, proclaiming the gospel through education. The purpose of education at Flatirons is primarily a proclamation of the Gospel--the good news that the awesome life, death, and resurrection of Jesus reconciles and restores lost and broken people to the good, Creator of the universe.
We believe every activity is an opportunity to apply the good news with specific thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
In the context of education, this means that teaching and learning is a way to reflect, worship, relate to, and obey our creator. You are the family; we reinforce the family through education. The family is the primary social structure created by God as the foundation for society and culture. Parents are the primary educators and programs, schedules, and calendars are designed with families in mind. We are a community; cultivating community through education. The primary platform for making connections among students and families are the ordinary activities and events of the school year.
It is our goal to create a small-town environment for people who live in the metro area so that families can connect, students belong, and growth occurs through engagement.

School Notes

  • While we have an elementary school, middle school, and high school designed to meet the specific developmental needs of students, we are first a Kindergarten - 12th-grade program designed to partner with families and the Church to raise up generations of students in the way that they should go. Each school in our K-12 program dovetails together to provide students with a first-class education with a Christian Worldview in the context of committed long-term relationships. This long-term view provides a transformative education for students from childhood to young adulthood.
  • Instead of specializing in one area, Flatirons Academy focuses on developing the skills of a Christian liberal arts education necessary to access all fields of study and careers, and more importantly, to live a meaningful life. This means serving families who have students with a range of interests and skills and measuring success primarily by how much students grow, whether they are behind, on track, or advanced. The result is that Flatirons consistently grows all students in math and reading better than 90% of all schools in the U.S. Students performing in the 99th percentile and average students are both experiencing above-average growth at Flatirons. This focus on growth leads to high performance and greater access to post-secondary opportunities. Compared to national norms, Flatirons Academy has double the number of students who are on pace for College and Career Readiness.
  • At Flatirons Academy, we provide an academic program designed to create a shared student experience that provides the greatest opportunities for all students. Teachers focus on the use of universal-design-for-instruction strategies to provide a meaningful learning experience to a broad spectrum of learners during classroom instruction instead of "pulling out" students from core instruction for remedial or accelerated activities or employing formal academic plans. This occurs in a traditional classroom setting with a single teacher and without individual accommodations.

We have 3 young boys in CCA (5th, 6th and 8th grade) and have been attending for a six years now. When we found CCA, we were looking for a change from public schools because the public school didn't provide what we were looking for in terms of flexibility for students who learn at different pacing (one of our boys is a grade ahead in math) while another has issues with reading and needs extra help. We instantly fell in love with the family atmosphere of CCA, the small class sizes, and the emphasis on building character. CCA has a strong focus on equipping students for greatness. The staff, teachers, and administrators are all top caliber! They provide an excellent education and genuinely care about each and every student. We are extremely happy with our decision to attend CCA and now we can't imagine our kids being enrolled anywhere else and neither can our boys. They are already talking about when they will graduate from High School at CCA. I would strongly recommend considering CCA if you are looking for a positive change.

When moving to the Denver/Westminster area four years ago, one of my wife and I's top priorities was finding a private Christian school where our daughter would attend. We visited CCA on the 2nd school visit and looked no further. Our daughter attended CCA all four years and would could not be happier with the experience she had and they way the school approached her education. Our daughter was involved in all aspects of CCA programs and I truly believe the Christ centered education has benefitted her and will have a profound impact on her life going forward now that she will be entering college. Thank you so much CCA!!
