After waiting 3 years to get in my children arrived in Pre K and 1st grade! And boy did our lives change. This school does half my parenting for me. Each day my children are returned to me more mature, more open, more self assured and wiser. I come from a very elite east coast private school background and I wish I had a school like this when I was growing up. I wish the public schools could embrace a fraction of what our school does. This school turns out kids who WANT to be the best; they are pushed to be the best and at the expense of others. As they rise they take their friends with them! I was going to move back east and the sole reason I stayed was because I wanted this school to do its magic with my kids through 8th grade! It is an honor to be a part of this school and my whole family has benefitted from it. There is a very diverse socio-economic student body too which we love! My kids know to accept any and all and see good in everyone. The school prides itself on having a well rounded student body and the shape of the student body brings together many cultures and ways of being which in itself is an education. Again, if only all these fancy private schools and our struggling public schools could embrace a fraction of what this school teaches our children about themselves and humanity daily the world boo g forward would be a better place indeed.

Our three years at SFSAS have been exceptional. The teachers encourage curiosity and a passion for learning. The school embraces itself as a sanctuary, where children and parents practice kindness, supportiveness, and empathy. Any issues that do arise are handled in an objective and thoughtful way. I am particularly fond of the expeditionary learning concept. It is a highly effective way for students to think globally and in a cross-disciplinary way.

All three of my children have had a wonderful educational experience at SFSAS. The teachers are excellent, very dedicated, caring and inspiring. They are constantly improving the curriculum and working with children to address their individual needs. There is a wonderful culture of respect and integrity, and my kids have always been genuinely happy about going to school every day. The academics are strong and comprehensive, and even more importantly, the children at this school are inspired to nurture a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge that will help them to excel and succeed for the rest of their lives. We are so happy to be part of this wonderful school.

Challenging curriculum, attention to students'' social and emotional learning, good culture of respect, diversity, creativity and compassion. Every teacher is a master teacher and teachers from the community observe classes, students are excited and engaged, middle school program includes mentorships, overseas trips, digital arts, moving picture; Scholastic Magazine even did a story with a headline that said "The Kindest School on Earth!"

Wonderful school in so many ways. The middle school program has strong academics, Japanese (excellent), French, Spanish, Algebra, Moving Images, Digital Arts, Humanities, Science and English. Each instructor pushes the child to go above and beyond and to thoroughly challenge themselves. I''ve seen my children transform in just a few short months to new levels of ability and self esteem. The focus is on understanding our world and being an agent of change within it. The expeditionary learning model means they study a particular subject in depth throughout the year. In science that meant studying beaver dams, trips to the SF River, chemical analysis, taxonomy, etc. GREAT school!
